Prospective Members

Sigma Theta Tau International Membership Types

• Undergraduate Student - Junior or senior students enrolled in baccalaureate programs at accredited institutions of higher education who have completed at least 1/2 of the nursing curriculum, rank in the upper 35 percent of their graduating class and have achieved academic excellence (at schools where a 4.0 grade point average system is used, this equates to at least a 3.2)
• Graduate Student - Master’s and Doctoral students enrolled in graduate programs at accredited institutions of higher education who have completed at least 1/4 of the nursing curriculum, have achieved academic excellence (at schools where a 4.0 grade point average system is used, this equates to at least a 3.5)
• Nurse Leader - Registered Nurses, legally recognized to practice in their countries, who hold at least a baccalaureate degree in nursing or other field and have demonstrated achievement in nursing. 

How do I join?
Membership for undergraduate and graduate students is by invitation.  New members are inducted every spring. In February, the Gamma membership votes on nominated, eligible students and leaders.  Those who are chosen will receive an email invitation from STTI headquarters. The formal induction ceremony is held in April.  Click here for answers to frequently asked questions about induction. 

Are you a practicing RN who at least a baccalaureate degree in nursing or other field who has demonstrated achievement in nursing?  Then you are a Nurse Leader!  We encourage you to apply for membership in the Gamma chapter.  Please contact .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address), Gamma Secretary for the application materials.  Nurse leaders can apply anytime throughout the year.
