Donation to Healthy Kids Community Care

Thanks to all those who supported this fall’s Mixed Bag Designs Fundraiser! On October 10, 2011, Anne Bye, Gamma’s undergraduate Leadership Intern, presented the donation to Susie Poulton, Director of Health Services for the Iowa City Community School District, at the Healthy Kids Community Care Advisory Committee meeting.

Gamma sold a total of $1,282 worth of product, with a profit of $628 that we donated to Healthy Kids Community Care, the school-based health clinic open to students in the Iowa City Community School District who are without access to affordable health care. Staffed by a nurse practitioner and a UI pediatrician, the clinic’s goal is to keep students healthy so they will be successful in school.

The Healthy Kids Community Care Advisory Committee expressed great appreciation for the donation and the awareness that we raised for their program!

The order should be arriving later this week, and we will be in contact with you about pick-up times.
